CENTRAL IRB SERVICES
The Biomedical Research Alliance of New York was formed by the New York Academy of Medicine in 1998.

Our central IRB is unique in that members from leading academic centers serve as the members of the IRB. Additionally several academic centers that are not allowed to use other central IRBs are allowed to use the BRANY IRB.
We can perform IRB review for any site that is able to use a central IRB and all academic sites able to use the BRANY IRB
We combine the efficiency of a central board with the knowledge of local research context.
Our IRB meets weekly
Protected class and gene therapy trials audited for compliance
Every investigator audited at least once to assess GCP compliance
Auditors train the staff on-site making the audit an educational experience
Audits scheduled soon after the first enrollment
Central IBC services are also offered with meetings scheduled 1-2 weeks after the IRB for rapid consideration of your gene therapy trial.
Notification of IRB and IBC decisions within 2 days of the meeting
Approvals include modified approved consent forms
